Peoples Bank & Trust Recognizes Director Celebrating 30 Years of Service and Other Employee Milestones

Pana, Ill. – March 25, 2026 – Peoples Bank & Trust is proud to recognize seven employees who are all celebrating milestone work anniversaries. Michael E. Beyers, 30 years of dedicated service to the People First Bancshares and Peoples Bank & Trust Board of Directors, Josh Shallenberger, 5 years of service to the Board, Sholeen Anthony 5 years of service and as well as Kayla Sain, Amy Markstahler, Juliana Liffick and Matthew Harris celebrating their first year of service.

Mike Beyers has proudly served as a Director of Peoples Bank & Trust  and People First Bancshares Board since 1996. He is the current Chairman of the Loan Committee. Michael is part-time owner of Beyers Construction Company and owner of Oak Terrace Resort. Mike is a lifelong resident of Pana. He is well known and respected in the community.  He spends his free time enjoying his family and keeps busy attending all the extracurricular activities of his many grandchildren.

Josh Shallenberger joined the Board in 2021. Josh is President/CEO of Shelby Electric Cooperative and its subsidiaries, Shelby Energy, ShelbyFiber and PWR-net. Josh also serves in board positions with Prairie Power, Inc., HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Illinois Action Committee for Rural Electrification, National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC), East Central Illinois Economic Development, Christian County Economic Development Corp., and Shelby County Economic Development. Josh lives in Shelbyville.

Sholeen Anthony is a Teller at our Taylorville branch. She joined the bank in March 2021 as a part time teller. Sholeen left us for a few months, then couldn’t live with us, and came back as a full-time teller. Sholeen enjoys helping customers with their banking needs.

Additionally, we are celebrating first year of service anniversaries for four employees:

Kayla Sain joined the Bank as a Consumer Banking Officer in our Altamont Branch in January 2025. Kayla has been in banking for 18 years. She has experience across the board from teller, CSR, branch manager and consumer and residential loan officer. Kayla has been married to her high school sweetheart for 16 years and they have three children and two dogs. Their children are involved in every sport there is, so they spend most of their time running them from sport to sport. She enjoys coaching baseball in the summer and spends a lot of time volunteering at the school. Kayla likes to travel, go on cruises and work out in the gym. Kayla was born and raised in Altamont, so her passion for the town runs deep and she enjoys helping in as many ways as possible. Kayla is an experienced banker and we are very pleased that she has agreed to join us.

Matt Harris joined the Bank last March as a VP, Government Guaranteed Credit. Matt teams with other Business Bankers to guide structuring, underwriting, processing, and servicing of USDA B&I and US SBA guaranteed loans. Matt has been with USDA Rural Development since 2004 and in his previous role he led Illinois’ IRP, RBDG, VAPG, B&I and REAP guaranteed loan programs under their USDA’s Business and Cooperative Programs division. Matt lives in Peoria with his wife and three children. Matt is a valuable asset to the Credit Administration group.

Juliana Liffick is a Teller/CSR at our Charleston facility. She takes pride in assisting customers with every transaction, always striving to provide thoughtful support and answer questions. Juliana’s commitment to service helps make our community bank a place people can trust.

Amy Markstahler is a part-time teller at our Tuscola branch, where her friendly spirit and dedication shine each day. Amy truly enjoys getting to know customers and helping them with their banking needs, making everyone feel welcome.
