Peoples Bank & Trust Contributes $5000 to Support Pana Pump Track and Skate Park Initiative

Pana, Ill. – May 13, 2026 – Peoples Bank & Trust is proud to announce that it recently made a donation of $5,000 to the Pana Pump Track and Skate Park initiative, a community-driven project designed to create a new space for youth recreation, activity and connection.

The location for the new Pump Track and Skate Park will be at the old Lincoln School site in Pana.

As it is currently designed, the park will be positioned on a parcel of the site that is 75’ wide x 120 long. Actual track dimensions will cover an area of  70’ wide x ~90’ long and consist of continuous looping design with six straight aways and six cornering sections. The loop will have four entry / exit points for riders and skateboarders to access the track. Additionally, there will be a straight-line pump track slated to be 45’ long.

The riding track surface will include multiple color sections including light green, bright green or blue and offer a space where riders of all skill levels can learn, practice and grow their abilities.

For those who may not know, a pump track and skate park is a fun, active space where youth of all ages can ride bikes, skateboards, or scooters and just enjoy being outdoors. The pump track is a looping path with small hills and curves that riders move through, while the skate park includes ramps and features for practicing tricks and building confidence.

Major funding for this initiative was donated by a Pana resident who saw a need and an opportunity to provide something new and positive for local youth. This generous benefactor wishes to remain anonymous, however, their generous gift will certainly be visible for all in our community and beyond for years to come.

While the completion date for the project is yet to be finalized, groundwork at the construction site has started and progress is being made.
