Peoples Bank & Trust Donates to Tornado Alley Turf Project
May 20, 2018
Ken Hart, Community Bank President of Peoples Bank & Trust in Taylorville recently presented a check for $10,000 to Taylorville Mayor, Bruce Barry for the Taylorville Quarterback Club Tornado Turf project. In giving back to the community, Peoples Bank & Trust is committed to not only serving our customers, but also the communities it serves.
The Tornado Turf Project is raising funds to purchase and install the artificial turf system at the Taylorville High School. Club members, Lee Mateer and Danny McNeely were also on hand to receive the donation. McNeely said the project would improve the functionality of the field to benefit a host of kids and sporting events. The Band will be able to march on the field again and the JFL and YFL will probably get to come back to the high school. The durability of the field will also reduce some maintenance costs for the district.
The Quarterback Club has been holding several fundraising events to support the project. Their next event is a Mostacciolli Dinner on Sunday, June 10 from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the THS cafeteria.
Peoples Bank & Trust employees Jessica Bland, James Adcock, Larry Boston, Ryan Tapp, Jordan Ruppert, Judy Prasun, Lindsay Lopian, Edrie Walton, Brittany Alberts and Carole Gensler joined Ken Hart, Mayor Barry, Lee Mateer, Ass’t Football Coach and Danny McNeely, Dimond Bros., for the presentation.
